DAY 2 – COASTAL HAVENS
Full-day transfer from Bosaso to the picturesquely remote seaside town of Bargaal.
Afternoon arrival in Bargaal, walking tour and dinner at the local beach.

DAY 3 – LICTORIAN MEMORIES
Wake-up call before dawn and once-in-a-life-time overland adventure to Cape Guardafui, a true holy grail for adventure travellers.
Visit to the almost mythical Francesco Crispi Lightouse, an imposing structure shaped like a fascio littorio, the bound bundle of wooden rods topped by an axe that became the national symbol of Italy during the fascist Ventennio (1922-1943).
Overnight in Bargaal.
DAY 4 – SALTY DREAMS
Transfer to the coastal hamlet of Hafun, the easternmost point of continental Africa, home to the rickety and photogenic remnants of what once was the largest salt treatment enterprise in the world.
In 1930, the Italian firm Saline Companies and Industries of Northern Somalia Migiurtina invested huge capital to exploit salt deposits in Hafun (then known as Dante) and built a factory producing more than 200,000 metric tons of salt, most of which was exported to India and the Far East.
In 1941, the salt works were criminally destroyed during the British occupation of Italian East Africa.
Overnight in Hafun.
DAY 5 – PIRATE HIDEOUTS
Epic road trip down south to Eyl, the (former) notorious epicentre of piracy activities in the Horn of Africa and the erstwhile capital of the Somali dervish movement.
Sightseeing in and around Eyl, sunset stroll along the Indian Ocean and lobster dinner with locals.
Overnight in Eyl.
DAY 6 – HOW TO START YOUR OWN COUNTRY
Final drive to Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland, the de facto independent and de jure unrecognised country within Somalia we have been thoroughly explored from north to south.
Visit to the main cultural and political institutions of Puntland and grand Somali dinner to conclude our dusty odyssey across the Horn of Africa.
Overnight in Garowe.
DAY 7 – FAREWELL TO THE HORN
Secure transfer to Garowe International Airport and goodbyes to the Horn of Africa.
For those travellers with a few days to spare we can arrange short add-on trips and longer tour extensions to most areas of Somalia, including the capital Mogadishu and the southern city of Kismayo in Jubaland.
