DAY 1 - Nakhchivan City and Garabaghlar

Meet-and-greet at Nakhchivan International Airport and transfer to our hotel of choice in Nakhchivan City.
Nakhchivan City Tour: Old Town, Noah's Tomb, Momina Khatun, Central Mosque, Khan's Palace, Heydar Aliyev Museum and plenty of Soviet-era buildings.
Afternoon transfer to Garabaghlar, a traditional village located in the Sharur district, where we'll visit ancient Islamic mausoleums, towering minarets and medieval ruins scattered around the barren landscape of Northern Nakhchivan.
On our way back to Nakhchivan City city, we'll visit a truly unique post-Soviet sanatorium in Duzdag, a surreal asthma treatment centre built inside a salt mountain.
Dinner and overnight in Nakhchivan City.

DAY 2 - Julfa AND Ordubad

In the morning we'll visit the ancient city of Julfa, right next to the border with Iran, and the nearby thermal springs of Daridag.
We'll then move towards the pretty traditional town of Ordubad, where we'll enjoy a short walking tour around a 1001-night maze of narrow alleys, mud walls and historic mansions.
After lunch we'll head back Nakhchivan City driving along a scenic road surrounded by high red mountains and martian landscapes.
Besides the routine pauses for food and pictures, we'll break the 1-to-2-hour long journey to pay a visit to the mausoleum of Gulustan, a fine example of Islamic funerary art, and to admire the fortress of Alinja, an imposing defensive construction dating back to the XII century strikingly resembling the legendary Incan town of Machu Picchu (or at least an Azerbaijani version of it).

DAY 3 - Batabat and al-Khaf Caves

Today we will drive to Batabat, a magnificent tarn lake located at an elevation of 2,500 meters above sea level amid an uninhabited plateau of beautiful forests, mountains and floating islands.
We'll then head back back to Nakhchivan City for lunch and visit the Kahf Cave Complex, mentioned both in the Quran and in the ancient Greek sagas.
In the afternoon you can either join us for a visit to the Carpets Museum in Nakhchivan City or enjoy some free time for coffee pleasures and souvenir shopping.
Dinner and overnight in Nakhchivan City.

DAY 4 - FAREWELL TO NAKHCHIVAN

After sharing a last Nakhchivani meal together, we'll take care of your transfer to Nakhchivan International Airport for your trip back home and/or your connection to yet another exciting destination in the region such as Iran, Turkey or mainland Azerbaijan.
