In addition to our regular group departures to Chechnya, we also offer bespoke tour services for private travel parties and lone wolves alike. As a traveller-oriented boutique operator, tailored trips and bespoke adventures are our bread and butter. Get in touch for more info on our customised journeys to Chechnya

DAY 1 — Grozny

  • Meet-and-greet at Grozny International Airport and transfer to our hotel of choice in downtown Grozny.

  • Introductory briefing about the region, the route and the set of rules to observe while travelling in Chechnya.

  • We'll then spend the entire day touring and exploring Grozny, a resilient Caucasian metropolis that, like a mythical Phoenix, astonishingly resurged from the ruins and desperation of the post-Soviet 90s.

  • Overnight in Grozny.

DAY 2 — Argun

  • Today we’ll visit the thriving towns of the Chechen flatlands, namely Urus Martan, Argun and Shali.

  • Once grim theatres of bloody battles, these Soviet-built urban centres are now experiencing an oil-fuelled renaissance: UAE-style skylines, futuristic mosques and thriving city life.

  • In the afternoon we’ll then return to Grozny, where you’ll enjoy some free time on your own to either stroll around the lively city centre or relax at your hotel spa.

  • Overnight in Grozny.

DAY 3 — Itum-Kale

  • In the morning we'll transfer south to the Chechen Highlands towards the southern districts of Sharoysky and Itum-Kalinsky.

  • We’ll spend the morning visiting medieval watchtowers, obscure necropolises and traditional Chechen hamlets (auls): stony jewels dotting postcard-like mountainscapes.

  • Back in Grozny, we'll enjoy a guided tour to the Chechen National Museum to learn more about the history of the Vainakh, the indigenous Caucasian ethnicity that comprehends both the Chechen and the Igush peoples (as well as the Kists and the Bats in neighbouring Georgia).

  • Dinner and overnight in Grozny.

DAY 4 — Kezenoyam

  • Early in the morning we'll leave Grozny and head to Kezenoyam, a magnificent mountain lake surrounded by high peaks and green pastures.

  • On our way to the lake, we'll stop for some food at the central bazaar of Vedeno, a small town notoriously known for having headquartered frightful Chechen rebels and Arab radical islamist fighters during the Chechen Wars.

  • After having spent some relaxing time at the lake, we'll pay a quick visit to the nearby ghost village of Khoy and shortly pop into Dagestan to visit the picturesque village of Andi, before eventually re-entering Chechnya for our descent to Grozny.

  • Dinner and overnight in Grozny.

DAY 5 — Ingushetia

  • Early in the morning we'll move westwards and head for the tiny Republic of Ingushetia to reach the remote mountain district of Dzheyrakh, famous for its quaint villages and medieval watchtowers overlooking the Great Caucasus Range.

  • The Ingushes are an ethnic group closely related to the Chechens and their languages are mutually intelligible; during the good old Soviet days the two people were united under one single geopolitical entity: the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

  • We’ll spend the first half of the day touring the striking watchtower complexes of the area (Erzi, Targim, Egikal, Khamkhi and Vovnushki, as well as the Georgian church of Tkhaba-Yerdy) and then head for the plains towards Nazran, the largest town in Ingushetia, and Magas, the surreal brand-new capital of the republic, where we'll pay a visit to the Memorial of the Ingush Genocide.

  • Dinner and overnight in Grozny.

DAY 6 — Farewell to Chechnya

  • After sharing a last Chechen meal together, we'll take care of your transfer to Grozny International Airport.

  • For those wishing to take the train/bus to reach further destinations: transfer to the local train/bus station.

  • Possible tour extensions to this itinerary include: Dagestan and/or Circassia.

  • End of the tour.
